This enchanting holiday is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval market town, most famously known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. This well-preserved tourist magnet retains many of the buildings that would have been familiar to the Bard such as the house where he grew up, romantic Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Hall’s Croft, home to Shakespeare’s daughter. Look forward to discovering the stunning style of its half-timbered Tudor architecture from the vantage point of a boat on our River Avon cruise. We also take in the picture postcard Cotswolds, home to thatched roofed villages, honey hued stone cottages, and stately homes built of distinctive yellow limestone. We spend a day in Oxford, famous as the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ thanks to the architecture of the prestigious university buildings. Staying at the four star Stratford Manor Hotel.
