Step back in time as you stroll down its well-preserved streets, lined with towers, medieval architecture, and ancient churches. Perhaps hop aboard the funicular railway to Montecatini Alto at the top of the mountain - a medieval settlement and onetime fortress that gives stunning views across the region. Our holiday includes an excursion to Pisa, famed for its iconic leaning tower that stands in the World Heritage Site, the Square of Miracles alongside the Cathedral of Santa Maria. Also in Pisa, you’ll find the Square of the Knights with its statue of Cosimo I – the First Grand Duke of Tuscany. We also visit Lucca, a historic city encircled by well-preserved Renaissance walls, with pleasant piazzas.
