Another gem is the charming city of Kilkenny which stands on the banks of the River Nore and is where you’ll find pleasant parks and an imposing castle. We also spend a day in Waterford – a thousand-year-old city, founded by the Vikings, with a lively waterfront, atmospheric streets, and a great sense of history.
