Our impressive itinerary includes a visit to Athlone, a town with a dramatic backstory set on the banks of the mighty River Shannon. From here, you’ll be transported back through the centuries at the Kilbeggan Distillery Experience, Ireland’s oldest distillery. We include a day in Galway, a handsome harbour city, ideally compact for a stroll through its winding streets. As well as being a popular seaside resort with long, sandy beaches, Galway also features wonderful, cobbled streets, full of culture, history and music. Our final outing takes us to Birr where we include entrance to Birr Castle Gardens, the grounds of a storybook fortress and one of Ireland’s top attractions. There will also be time to explore the Irish heritage town of Birr, a virtually intact Georgian settlement with tree-lined avenues and a unique character.
