We enjoy a guided tour of the Welsh capital of Cardiff. This port city hugs the south coast where the River Taff meets the Severn Estuary. It is home to an ancient castle, Edwardian architecture and a stylish waterfront housing the Millennium Centre and the Mermaid Quay leisure complex with shops and cafes. We cross the border into England to Weston-superMare with its promenade, Wheel of Weston, Grand Pier and Helicopter Museum. A special treat will be our visit to Tredegar House, a 17th century architectural wonder that has been used as a setting for a variety of TV dramas and stands in beautiful parkland. Staying at the low-rise Holiday Inn, set in a rural spot in the Welsh cathedral city of Newport.
