INCLUDES CRUISE & LUNCH
Join us as we step aboard the wonderful Waverley – the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer! Feast your eyes on captivating coastal scenery and enjoy the thrill of gliding along the Firth of Clyde on this splendid steamship as we sail ‘Doon the Watter’ from Glasgow to Rothesay. Step back in time as you watch the powerful steam engine rumble to life, driving the ship’s colossal paddle wheels and listen out for the ring of the telegraph as you cruise to the scenic Isle of Bute. Relish the nostalgia of having a bite to eat in the traditional dining saloon, relax with your favourite tipple in the Talisman Bar, pop a postcard into the Victorian post-box, or pick up a memento at the gift shop.
Registered on The National Historic Fleet as a ship of significance, this unique vessel has become an icon in her own lifetime. She was built in the 1940s and named after Sir Walter Scott’s Waverley novels. We join the Waverley at Glasgow’s Science Centre, then disembark at Rothesay for some free time before our included late lunch at the town’s Victoria Hotel. Later, we re-join our coach to board our return CalMac ferry, then onwards to our drop off points.
(Please note that coach seat numbers will be allocated on your final travel documents)
