Our holiday is based in a pretty little pueblo called Roses that stretches between the sea and mountains on Spain’s Costa Brava. Here you can relax on the beautiful beaches or hop aboard a pleasure cruiser to sail around the picturesque coastline. Roses presents a perfect blend of sun, beach and cultural attractions with landmarks such as sixteenth century Trinidad Castle and La Ciutadella pentagonal military fortress. A former Greek colony, you’ll find evidence of the ancient city as well as a natural marina with a network of canals. Holiday highlights include our trip on the Little Yellow Train of the Pyrenees, one of the great railway journeys of the world where the track winds through leafy forests, past gushing streams and upwards to the mountain village of Mont-Louis. On another day, we hop aboard the distinctive red and white Train du Pays Cathare et du Fenouilledes – a must do tourist railway trip that takes you deep into the verdant heart of the Pyrenees.
