Overview

The sprawling Cairngorms National Park covers an area twice the size of the Lake District and is the perfect place to get away from it all. A breathtaking area of natural beauty, it is home to mountains, woodland trails, sparkling lochs, distilleries and welcoming villages. Watch out for a wealth of wildlife such as the ospreys and eagles that grace the skies above ancient forests. Our unforgettable sightseeing takes in a trip on the enchanting Strathspey Steam Railway to popular Aviemore, home to attractions such as the Cairngorm Brewery Company and Loch-an-Eilein Pottery. We also ride the legendary West Highland Line to the fascinating port of Mallaig. A treat to cherish will be our cruise on sparkling Loch Linnhe, listening to intriguing commentary as we take in views of sky scraping Ben Nevis and watch out for wildlife.

Your Excursions

Loch Linnhe Cruise

We journey to Fort William to board the Souter Lass for a sightseeing cruise on Loch Linnhe, enhanced by fascinating commentary from the skipper. Feast your eyes on the soaring peaks of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, enjoy the stunning scenery of Lochaber and watch out for wildlife such as porpoises, seals and perhaps even a golden eagle. The Souter Lass has a comfortable, all weather viewing lounge where you’ll find a bar selling hot and cold drinks.

Strathspey Steam Railway & Aviemore

Our second excursion is a nostalgic trip on the strathspey steam railway as we journey almost ten miles through unspoilt Highland scenery to awe inspiring Aviemore, where we enjoy free time to explore this popular town in the Cairngorms National Park. Perhaps view the paintings at the Laundry Art Gallery or the earthenware at Loch An Eilean Pottery.

West Highland Line & Mallaig

For our final trip we board our Scotrail diesel train for a forty mile trip on the dramatic West Highland Line to Mallaig, a coastal town overlooking the Isle of Skye, it contains a host of attractions such as the Heritage Centre and a genuine kipper smokery. We cross the spectacular multi-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct a landmark recognisable from the Harry Potter movies and rumble past the white sands of Morar.

Duke of Gordon - Kingussie

This eighteenth century estate and former coaching inn is now a luxury hotel offering refined hospitality in a delightful corner of the Cairngorms National Park. It was once visited by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and it’s Balmoral Restaurant features corniced ceilings and murals depicting Highland history.
