Wonderful sightseeing beckons as we head to the soaring mountains of the Bavarian forest to experience the magic of a winter wonderland. Among the treasures is a visit to Passau, a guided tour of Aldersbach Abbey and brewery and we also experience nature from a unique perspective with a guided walk amongst tree tops. Our base, the welcoming Hotel Haus Bayerwald nestles at the foot of the Dreisesselberg Mountain and offers a range of treatments in its wellness centre.
Day one.We head to Hull for our overnight ferry to the continent enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day two. We continue to our dinner, bed and breakfast hotel.
Day three. We check into the Hotel Haus Bayerwald then enjoy a walk through the picturesque surroundings, warmed by a glass of mulled wine.
Day four. We travel to the Bavarian Forest National Park for a guided walk along the world’s biggest - and easily accessible - tree top path where you can experience untouched nature. Afterwards, explore the wildlife enclosures or head to the visitor centre.
Day five. Our first stop today is a guided tour of the husky farm in Dreisessel where you get an insight into the training of huskies. From here, we make our way to the Igloo village - the coolest attraction in the Bavarian Alps!
Day six. A treat today is a guided tour of Aldersbach Abbey & Brewery. We then continue to Passau where a guide in traditional costume shows you the old district of the “City of Three Rivers”.
Day seven. Our sightseeing today takes us to Bodenmais where we visit the Joska glass paradise – an interactive adventure world where you can blow your own glass ball.
Day eight We journey to our dinner, bed and breakfast stop.
Day nine. We continue to our ferry back to Hull enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day ten. We make our way home.
Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your P&O ferry at Hull for your sailing to the continent. drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.
On Board Dining
All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to ‘The Kitchen’ buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to The Brasserie Restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
Make your way to the Show Lounge and enjoy live bands throughout the evening – there’s even a dance floor if you fancy a wee boogie! Or slow the pace down at the Piano Bar where you can sip a cocktail as you listen to mellow music. Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.
Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.

On our AIR & CRUISE holidays we offer an extended service with a radius of 35 miles from the listed points, for departures from Scottish ports and airports. Our much-loved free Door to Door service is available on all Glenton Palmer Select coach tours of four days or longer and many of our AIR & CRUISE holidays. A home collection may still be available from outside these areas but a supplement will apply.
Where advertised this free service it may be necessary to share your vehicle with other passengers on your tour. The pick-up will be at the address of the lead name on your booking. Additional pick-ups may be requested at a supplement of £20 per person. You will be driven from your home to a coach pick-up point and, on occasion, you may have to transfer to another vehicle before boarding the coach. Unfortunately, for operational and administrative reasons, Door to Door service may not be available for bookings made within 21 days of departure.
