Steeped in Victorian history and oozing old world charm, Weston-super-Mare boasts miles of sandy beaches and a Grand Pier with rides, amusement arcades, a 4D cinema, ice cream parlours and Tiffany’s Traditional Tearoom. Stroll along the level promenade admiring stunning views over the Channel or perhaps head to Grove Park where free music concerts are sometimes held at the bandstand. Ride on the forty metre tall Wheel of Weston, take a boat trip around the bay or get up close to all creatures great and small at SeaQuarium. Perhaps head to the Helicopter Museum, the largest of its kind in the world and where you’ll be amazed by the collection of well preserved historic choppers from around the world and intrigued by the interactive zones.
Monday. From local joining points we make our way to Weston-super-Mare and check into Daunceys Hotel for our four night stay.
Tuesday. We journey to Tiverton, the largest town in mid Devon and home to a fifteenth century church, castle remains and well-preserved old merchants’ houses. Look forward to an atmospheric horse-drawn barge trip along the breathtaking Grand Western Canal. You’ll adore this unique and memorable experience on one of the last
remaining horse drawn barges in the UK.
Wednesday. A visit to world famous Cheddar Gorge, an area of outstanding natural beauty with dramatic cliffs and spectacular stalactite caverns.
Thursday. Enjoy a day in Roman Bath. Perhaps feast your eyes on astounding landmarks such as the breathtaking abbey, guildhall, Pulteney Bridge and the Theatre Royal or be amazed by the Roman Baths - one of the most complete ancient sites in the world.
Friday. After breakfast, we journey home with rest stops along the way.
