Overview:

There really is no better way to uncover Europe’s bounty of treasures than on a glENtON Grand European Tour. These unmissable adventures present a fresh itinerary every year and our 2017 holiday takes in the Black Forest, sophisticated Milan, Eternal City of Rome, idyllic islands of Sardinia and Corsica, coastal city of Genoa, Switzerland’s lovely Lausanne on the shores of Lake Geneva then finally the French capital of Paris.

Highlights include pretty Freiburg, Germany’s southernmost major town where you’ll find a warm, Mediterranean ambience and a delightful old quarter. Triberg boasts a lofty cascading waterfall and is regarded as the birthplace of the cuckoo clock. Majestic Milan presents an alluring blend of medieval and modern buildings then there’s the Eternal City of Rome where stunning landmarks include the breathtaking Pantheon – a circular temple dating from 27BC and one of the best preserved of all ancient Roman buildings. Civitavecchia is a gem to explore with its well preserved Roman port and medley of architectural jewellery. We then set foot on heavenly Sardinia, a captivating island with a historic core where traces of early settlers such as the Phoenicians can be found. From here we set sail for Corsica, birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte and where you’ll find his ancestral home. Back on mainland Europe we stop off at the gorgeous coastal city of Genoa then it’s into Switzerland and to lovely Lausanne, a city on the Swiss Riviera and home to the International Olympic Museum. A visit to romantic Paris completes a fascinating adventure.
