Based in Valkenburg, a lively Dutch town where you’ll find caves dating back to Roman times. We visit Vaals where the meeting point of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium is marked by the soaring Tripoint watchtower. Aachen boasts the landmark Elisenbrunnen Fountain, Cologne is home to a cathedral that houses the Shrine of the Three Kings and Brussels boasts the sprawling Grand Place. Our base is the Hotel Walram, located close to the centre of Valkenburg.

Your Holiday Itinerary

Day One.We head to Hull for our ferry to Zeebrugge, enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Two.We make our way to the Hotel Walram. Afternoon is free to explore - don’t miss the Gemeentegrot caves – a fascinating underworld dating back to the Romans and featuring wall paintings.

Day Three. We travel to Vaals, the meeting point of Holland, Belgium and Germany. Take in the view from the top of the watchtower or wander around the quirky maze. We proceed into Germany and to Aachen where mustsee attractions include the gothic cathedral,Palatine Chapel and the Elisenbrunnen Fountain.

Day Four. Enjoy a day in Cologne, where the main attraction is the magnificent twin-spired cathedral featuring the Shrine of the Three Kings. Adjacent to the cathedral, the Museum Ludwig displays masterpieces by Picasso.

Day Five. We check out of our hotel and head for Brussels where you might like to relax in Grand Place or wander around the grand old buildings. Look out for the European Parliament and the landmark Hotel de Ville with its soaring gothic tower. From here it’s onwards to Zeebrugge for our ferry back to Hull enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Six. We make our way home.

Hotel Walram - Valkenburg

This modern and comfortable hotel is friendly and family run and has a superb location in a quiet square on the banks of the River De Guel yet only a couple of minutes stroll from Valkenburg’s lively town centre.

Overnight Ferry to the Continent

Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your P&O ferry at Hull for your sailing to the continent. drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.

On Board Dining

All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to ‘The Kitchen’ buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to The Brasserie Restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?


Make your way to the Show Lounge and enjoy live bands throughout the evening – there’s even a dance floor if you fancy a wee boogie! Or slow the pace down at the Piano Bar where you can sip a cocktail as you listen to mellow music. Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the  cinema or try your luck at the casino.


Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
