The seafront Monterey Beach Hotel is just a short stroll from St Annes pier and is our comfortable base for this seaside sojourn. Step back in time at Samlesbury Hall, one of the stunning stately homes of Lancashire, a haven for history lovers, where the past meets the present, there are charming grounds, a rose garden and Bee & Heritage centre (complete with live bees!), before we continue our day at Botany Bay, a unique retail complex in a former Lancashire mill. We also spend a day in sophisticated Southport where you might like to explore the Grade II listed pleasure pier or perhaps leafy Lord Street offers great shopping in classy Victorian surroundings. Good Companions staying for five days enjoy a themed break with a Big Band, two cabarets and a quiz night and have the added bonus of a morning excursion to the market town of Clitheroe. Our September date also include an evening drive through Blackpool’s illuminations.
