This intriguing holiday of contrasts is based at the comfortable Headway Hotel, perched on the seafront in traditional Morecambe and where we enjoy an afternoon tea dance on one day of our stay. Out and about in this lovely coastal resort you’ll find a statue of comedy legend, Eric Morecambe – the town’s most famous son. We venture out to Settle, a wonderful little market town in the Yorkshire Dales chock full of independent shops and traditional tearooms. From here we move on to pretty Skipton where the local market is in full of swing. If you don’t fancy browsing the wares perhaps you’d like to visit Skipton’s nine-hundredyear-old castle. We also enjoy a morning visit to Lancaster, a city steeped in a thousand years of history and home to a mighty castle with a fascinating museum.
The comfortable Headway Hotel rests on Morecambe’s East Promenade enjoying lovely views over the bay and has a quiet lounge as well as an entertainment venue.
