On this wonderful Welsh adventure we step back in time at the National Slate Museumwhere the Victorian workshops appear as though the quarrymen had just put down their tools while the waterwheels and old houses tell of life in bygone days. We then continue to picturesque Blaenau Ffestiniog for free time. On another day we visit the pretty market town of Denbighwith its Elizabethan pubs and where the remains of its castle dominate the skyline. We include a guided tour of the Cae Dai 1950s Museum where astonishing exhibits include Christine Keeler’s car, the Great Train Robbery getaway lorry, typically furnished rooms from the era, corner shops with old favourites as well as vintage toys and movie memorabilia. Finally, we discover lovely Llandudno, home to the longest pier in Wales and Britain’s only cable-hauled tramway then call at the walled settlement of Conwy. Our base is the popular Westminster Hotel, perfectly located fifty yards from Rhyl’s promenade and beach.
This classic good value hotel is perfectly located overlooking the beach. Rhyl promenade and the White Rose Shopping Centre are just metres away.
