The Victorian town of Llandrindod Wells is perched seven hundred feet above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Perhaps follow the leafy trails in Rock Park, view the artefacts at Radnorshire Museum or simply relax and watch the birds on the lake. We venture out to the cathedral city of Hereford which straddles the banks of the River Wye and exudes a friendly market town atmosphere. We also dip our toes in the sand on a morning visit to the pretty coastal resort of Aberystwyth. Our final outing is to King Arthur’s Labyrinth in southern Snowdonia. Here we take a cruise under the mountain and are regaled by tales during a mysterious cave walk, followed by lunch.

Your Excursions

No visit to Hereford would be complete without viewing the outstanding thirteenth century Mappa Mundi map inside the Gothic Grade I listed cathedral. The largest medieval map of the world in existence, it gives a remarkable insight into history. Maybe visit the famous Cider Museum where you can view the old machinery, vats and glassware, browse the art gallery and see the original cellars. Or perhaps pop into the distinctive black and white half timbered Old House on the High Street which dates from 1621 and is now a museum.

We enjoy a morning visit to the seaside resort and market town of Aberystwyth. Maybe you’d like to visit the narrow gauge Vale of Rheidol Railway, the Grade I listed castle or the funicular railway.

King Arthur’s Labyrinth, lunch & Corris Craft Centre
A great Welsh adventure as we head to Machynlleth and deep beneath the mountains of Southern Snowdonia for the mysterious King Arthur’s Labyrinth. We set sail through the cascading veil of an underground waterfall and discover a magical place where tales of fiery dragons, colossal giants, fierce battles and the legendary King Arthur are told. We also include a visit to the Y Crochan café where we enjoy a the local delicacy welsh rarebit, using local ingredients and have free time to explore the unique Corris Craft Centre; a hub of activity with individual craft studios. See some of the designer-makers at work, items made on site include traditional wooden toys, jewellery, candles, chocolates, pottery, herbal lotions and remedies and award winning artisan gin. This is a great place for finding a little taste of Wales to take home.
