Rhyl is located at the mouth of the River Clwyd and boasts miles of sandy beaches along with a pleasant promenade and a little land train to whisk tourists about. The resort is also home to the Sky Tower rotating viewpoint, award-winning botanical gardens, a museum and  a miniature railway that circles the boating lake. Out and about we  take in the walled city of Chester and lovely Llandudno as well as Llangollen and the UNESCO Horseshoe Pass mountain trail.

Your Excursions

This city boasts treasures such as its beautiful cathedral and thirteenth century half timbered shops. The old city walls offer a leisurely stroll giving a bird’s eye view of the city centre or perhaps visit the Roman amphitheatre.

Llangollen & the Horseshoe Pass
Located on the banks of the River Dee, Llangollen is overlooked by the ruins of a castle that is said to be the burial place of the Holy Grail. Perhaps stroll along Victoria Promenade, a delightful walkway that opened in 1899 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee or visit the heritage railway. From here we head up into the mountains and along the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass.

A morning visit to Llandudno, home to the longest pier in Wales where you’ll find cafés and gift shops along with amusement arcades and coastal vistas. Perhaps head to Victoria Station and take a trip on Britain’s only cable-hauled tramway.
