Pretty Arrochar nestles at the head of Loch Long, close to the sky scraping Arrochar Alps and the village is one of the main gateways to the Argyll Forest Park which stretches from the western shores of Loch Lomond as far south as Holy Loch. The village is set amongst some of the most spectacular scenery on the Cowal peninsula and there are gentle, clearly marked forest walks for those who like to stretch their legs. Our sightseeing extravaganza takes in a relaxing cruise on glassy Loch Lomond, an excursion to Inveraray, a day in Dunoon and a visit to Balloch.
Loch Lomond Cruise
We make our way to Tarbert to board our cruiser for a scenic and relaxing sail, gliding along the sheltered waters of Loch Lomond, before checking into our hotel.
Perhaps you’d like to visit romantic Inveraray Castle with its fairytale façade, beautiful gardens and captivating interior housing armoury, fine furniture, artwork and family heirlooms. Or head to Inveraray Jail an award winning attraction where costumed characters portray prisoners from bygone days.
Lying in a picturesque setting, this popular resort has lovely bays, pretty gardens, a pleasant promenade and a Victorian pier to enjoy.
Balloch & Loch Lomond Shores
We make our way to enchanting Balloch and to the village’s Loch Lomond Shores attraction where you’ll find a wide variety of shops from designer stores to independent boutiques.
