It’s little wonder the locals are so proud of vibrant Killarney and itsincredibly beautiful countryside. Famed for its festivals, carnivals and
lake regattas, this exuberant region has become the Emerald Isle’s premier tourist destination. From our base in Killarney town, we also visit the seaport city of Cork and the breathtaking Ring of Kerry. Our journeys are bookended by restful dinner, bed and breakfast stops on the outward and return journeys.
Ring of Kerry
We visit the awe-inspiring Ring of Kerry, a mystical unspoilt region that abounds with fine beaches and ancient monuments.
We include a free day for independent sightseeing in our resort. Maybe you’ll visit the fifteenth century Ross Castle or the magnificent Victorian mansion Muckross House. You could even take a boat trip to Innisfallen Island, home to monastic ruins that date back to the eleventh century.
We make our way to Cork with its impressive architecture such as the imposing triple-spired cathedral and the stately city hall. On our return we visit Blarney Woollen Mills for some shopping.
We travel via Dublin for a guided tour of the “fair city”. The many iconic sights include Trinity College, the Customs House, the General Post Office and the controversial Monument of Light, a silver spire that pierces the sky above O’Connell Street.
This family run Best Western hotel is set in the town centre close to all the amenities and attractions. The traditional Irish bar hosts live entertainment.
