Enjoy all the fun of the ferry along with a day at world famous Keukenhof and free time in the exciting city of Amsterdam. Known as the Garden of Europe, Keukenhof is one of the world’s largest flower gardens. This famous attraction is only open for eight weeks each year when over 800,000 visitors discover its charms. More than seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over 32 hectares with colour and fragrance, creating the most beautiful blanket of springtime blooms on the planet. Next day, Amsterdam is a gem of a city and home to Anne Frank’s House, canal trips and the Rijksmuseum amongst many other landmarks.
Your Holiday Itinerary
Day One. We head to Newcastle to board our DFDS ferry to Holland enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board. Dance to live music, catch the latest movie, relax with your favourite tipple or try your luck at the casino.
Day Two. We make the short coach journey to Keukenhof. This magnificent historic park will be in all its glory with a vibrant springtime patchwork quilt of colourful blooms. Explore the landscaped grounds and pavilions at your own pace. Look out for flower displays, inspirational themed gardens, distinctive artwork and eight hundred varieties of tulips– a truly unique and unforgettable experience. From here, we make our way to the Hotel Van Der Valk, Utrecht for dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day Three. We check out and travel to Amsterdam for free time to explore. Late afternoon we return to our ferry back to Newcastle enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.
Day Four. After disembarking, we make our way home.
Overnight Ferry to the Continent
Your holiday moves up a gear when you board your P&O ferry at Hull for your sailing to the continent. drop your overnight bag in your cabin then explore the ship or unwind with an aperitif in one of the bars.
On Board Dining
All GLENTON continental holidays include dinner and breakfast onboard. Head to ‘The Kitchen’ buffet restaurant where your waiter will show you to your table and take your order if you wish to purchase any drinks. Then you’re free to help yourself from the wide selection of tasty dishes from around the world. At breakfast, choose from continental or a fully cooked menu. Alternatively if you fancy treating yourself, why not upgrade to The Brasserie Restaurant and enjoy fine dining with full waiter service?
Make your way to the Show Lounge and enjoy live bands throughout the evening – there’s even a dance floor if you fancy a wee boogie! Or slow the pace down at the Piano Bar where you can sip a cocktail as you listen to mellow music. Perhaps you’d like to catch a blockbuster movie at the cinema or try your luck at the casino.
Your GLENTON continental holiday includes an air conditioned inside en suite cabin with bunk beds. However, you can upgrade to a cabin with level beds and/or sea view for a small supplement. Please ask your holiday advisor when booking.
