||Duke of Gordon Hotel
Based in Kingussie, a delightful village tucked away in the sprawling Cairngorms National Park, this area of natural beauty features soaring peaks, woodland trails and sparkling lochs. Our unforgettable sightseeing takes in a trip on the enchanting Strathspey Steam Railway to popular Aviemore. We also ride the legendary West Highland Line to the scenic port of Mallaig, which overlooks the Isle of Skye. A treat to cherish will be our cruise on the Crannog Cruise.
Lovely Loch Linnhe Cruise
We journey to Fort William to board the Souter Lass for a sightseeing cruise on Loch Linnhe, enhanced by fascinating commentary from the skipper. Feast your eyes on the soaring peaks of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, enjoy the stunning scenery of Lochaber and watch out for wildlife such as porpoises, seals and perhaps even a golden eagle. The Souter Lass has a comfortable, all weather viewing lounge where you’ll find a bar selling hot and cold drinks.
Strathspey Steam Railway & Aviemore
We take a nostalgic trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway, rumbling through ten miles of unspoilt Highland scenery to Aviemore where we have free time to explore.
West Highland Line & Mallaig
The forty mile trip on the West Highland Line crosses the spectacular multi-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct and passes the white sands of Morar as we wind our way to Mallaig. Here we have some free time to perhaps visit the Heritage Centre or the kipper smokery.
Duke of Gordon - Kingussie
This eighteenth century estate and former coaching inn is now a luxury hotel offering refined hospitality in a delightful corner of the Cairngorms National Park. It was once visited by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and it’s Balmoral Restaurant features corniced ceilings and murals depicting Highland history.
